Easiest Coffee Table Update Ever

This is our coffee table:

As far as the clunky aspen furniture goes it's actually really not bad. But that drawer underneath was really cramping my style, especially since the maker thought it was a good idea to use cheap particle board on 3/4 of a drawer that would most likely not be placed against a wall.

So, off it went! And in case you ever wanted to know how to get rid of a drawer, here goes.

Step 1, if you're smart: Turn the table on its side.

Step 1, if you're me: Proceed to attempt drawer removal by imitating a mechanic and scooting under the table.

Your view will look something like this. To detach the mobile part of the drawer from those white metal tracks, pull the drawer all the way out and then tilt it up. This should 'unlock' it from the tracks and allow it to be taken out.

If you haven't already, tip the table on its side. Seriously.

The screws of the drawer casing should now be reachable on the bottom of the table:

Now, just unscrew all of them...

...And take off the cheap wood casing so you're left with this!

Plenty of new room to stash all the stuff that gets set on top of the coffee table under the coffee table, so we can at least fake a clear surface on the most visible level.
